One Voice Rally On The Day (PDF Format)

The time has come for the people of the U.K. to unite at a peaceful rally to show the Welsh Government and National Assembly that something MUST be done about puppy farming and unscrupulous breeding in Wales. Puppy farming and indiscriminate dog breeding affects the whole of the U.K. The Welsh Government is finally laying before the National Assembly the long awaited new dog breeding regulations. These will become the standard by which all dog breeding legislation in the U.K. is judged. We have one chance to show the National Assembly and the Welsh Government that people across the U.K. demand nothing less than ‘Regs of Steel’ that will finally protect breeding dogs and puppies from horrendous welfare abuses. We have one chance to show them that we will not tolerate new regulations designed to put the financial interests of the puppy farming industry above animal welfare. If you love dogs, work with dogs, rescue dogs … your voice needs to be heard.

Please watch and most importantly please ‘share’ this short film about why there is such a pressing need for our One Voice rally in Cardiff next week, and why it’s so important to give these dogs a voice. (Don’t worry – there are no upsetting images!) We are incredibly grateful to Sue Powell-Reed and her wonderful team at Vibe Video Productions in Swansea who put this together for us so quickly and who so generously donated their time and energy to help our campaign.

ONE VOICE THAT WILL HELP DOGS ACROSS THE U.K.

WHY THE SENEDD? On 2nd July, 2013 the National Assembly will be debating The Animal Welfare (Breeding of Dogs) (Wales) Regulations as submitted by the Welsh Government. The National Assembly will either approve or refuse the regulations, there is no room for amendment.

WHY TUESDAY, 25th JUNE 2013? Every Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon the National Assembly hold a Plenary meeting. In attendance at these Plenary meetings are all 60 Assembly Members. Holding a rally one week before the new regulations are to be debated will provide the public with the opportunity to show all 60 Assembly Members that we will accept nothing but Regs of Steel.

WHY YOUR VOICE IS IMPORTANT You are the voice of the voiceless. Without you, thousands upon thousands of dogs and puppies will continue to suffer at the hands of unscrupulous breeders. We, as a nation owe it to our canine friends to give them a voice. If we come together as a group our One Voice will be too loud to ignore.

One Voice Rally T-ShirtONE VOICE RALLY BANNERS We encourage people to bring banners to the rally. We have put together a selection of banner suggestions/wordings under our photo album entitled BANNERS & LOGO on our Facebook page (click here). It is important we speak with One Voice, so that the message to the National Assembly is clear.

GIVE YOUR DOG A VOICE We wholeheartedly welcome dogs to the rally. If you’ll be joining your human family, please ask them to pack snacks, water and plenty of poo bags. Cardiff Bay is likely to be busy on the day, so it will be safer for you if you can remain on your lead whenever possible. If you would like to wear something on the day, such as a One Voice Rally doggy t-shirt or bandanna, visit our RALLY BANNERS & LOGOS website page (click here) where your human family can download our logo.
